Jesu, just carry the sign, lad.

But, Bluelight, please don't hit other people with it. We don't want our peaceful protest to become a riot.

Well, that's not at all creepy, weird and the kind of thing that should make someone move out immediately.

It's times like this I really miss the face-palm.

Some things do seem to scream for it...

Please do be careful Bluelight, especially if animals are nearby.

That's actually disturbing.

Disturbing, but incredibly ingenious. I’ve always dreamed of having a spy network to see if my classmates secretly gossip about me, or are secretly planning something against me.

I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea.

Agreed: it is a pretty bad idea, and even if you do have a spy network to see if people gossip about you, I don't think it's exactly the most efficient use of your resources. If I had a spy network at my disposal, I'd certainly use it for more important purposes.

I strongly advise against that.

First, it's not nice to get people to spy on one another for you. It could seriously damage your friendships if someone found out you didn't trust them.
Second, spy networks can be used against you. Your spies could feed you false information to deliberately undermine your friendships.
Third, you could find out things you were happier not knowing.
Fourth, I know you're 13 now, but surveilling people to get closer to them is a bad habit to get into for later life.

Try just hanging out with your friends. Get closer to them that way. Don't go the spying route.

Although it is kind of a cool to be a real life Master of Whisperers with a network.

Maintaining files on all persons of interest and getting up to date information from various sources. It would be like a small scale MI5/6

You'd be you're friend circles version of the Stasi and I don't think that's a title anybody wants.

The fact that I know I have friends doesn’t make me go the spying route. I do realise it’s a bad way of knowing other people.

Yeah, pretty soon people would just stop telling anything to you or anyone who they know still talks to you.

Who could trust the person who keeps files on their friends?

Yes, but unlike the actual Stasi, it would be hard for people to know that they've been bugged, because it wouldn't simply install a new cabinet. ;)

I don’t even know who’d have the time to do so, and what’s the point. It just keeps a bad memory of them. As a person who is very hesitant to let go of friends, I’d rather dwell on their good acts and feel bad about myself.

That was in my first list of reasons why it's a really bad idea.

That's just an addendum of why being a mini-Stasi is not something to be aspired to.
