Thing I learned from the 4th of July: do not use a cigarette lighter to light fuses on fireworks. I burned my thumb.

At least it’s not a cut, though the heat, when prolonged may damage some human cells within. I trust you’re okay, though.

In my infinite wisdom, I cut my thumb on a piece of plastic while mopping the floor.

There was this clip thing that you're supposed to release when you're taking out the mop. The mop cloth is detachable. So... It gets a little tight sometimes.

I tried to yank it out, and my thumb was in the middle of the line of fire.

Though luckily, it's been only a day, and my wound is already half-healed.

Oh that sucks. It’s glad to know your wound is half-healed. Thumb injuries (like the other fingers) are one of the worst parts to get a small cut. Last month, I accidentally poked myself with the sharp part of a compass and it started bleeding like hell. Thank goodness it wasn’t the school season when I had to write and pressing on the pen was going to be hard.

Ouch. The worst is when your thumb web gets hurt by something.

The kids more honest then me. I don't think I wrote a word of truth in any essay I every wrote in school. "Write about what you learned from this film," fucked if I know teacher, here's 1000 words proving I can write.

Oh yes. I could have taken a course in Advanced Bullshitting when I was in school.

The kid deserves top marks for being so honest.

There are no grades at all

Many days I’m basically an overglorified baby sitter

This morning for instance:

Kids whispering around... kid on the opposite table “teacher! Teacher! They’re saying mean things about me!”

It’s snack time. “I share him but he no share to me.”

I tell the kid to pass out the pencils... kid proceeds to wield power over the other kids and over complicate it... “I want the long pencil!””I want the short one!” “Hey it’s broken! He give me broken!”

I never knew until this day that a plastic pencil box could corrupt some kids as easily as Sauron’s Ring. The kid was fine before but give him this power and he went on a massive power trip it was unbelievable.

Kids are immature. They tend to abuse their power immediately when given. I’m not surprised, nor should you. I don’t trust them to be so well-behaved.

Met this really old Irish guy yesterday, who helped liaison between the IRA and the government during the negotiations of the Good Friday Agreement, and explained in detail about petitioning Margaret Thatcher in the 1970s over police brutality.

He explained this to me after giving me a severe talking too for daring to call the IRA 'not nice'.

And unjust. I can feel the embarrassment getting scolded by a bunch of upper sec (Grade 9 to 11) students. They tend to go vulgar and very harsh. Plus, the recess time was only 30 minutes, we spent the first 10 minutes getting down, and that guy had to re-queue at the back of a very long queue. That’s just brutally absurd.

Well the soccer team would not let me join, but seeing all the little girls out there cheering the national team was a pleasure. It was fun, now back to work.
