Parades are fun.

Depends on what it is. I’ve never attended a parade before.

Clearly my city is better than yours.

I can see that. My city’s parades design posters that are for kids (even when it’s not), and they have a tendency to always give prizes no matter what. Rarely do they design something that’s friendly to all.

Nah, 41 including this one. :P

1. Parades in my area are never fun. I’ve seen them and they look like a United Nations refugee centre. There isn’t any fun stuff going on. And only the task is completed. Thus they’re not fun.
2. I don’t know about you, but I really don’t like the local parades.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

I love small town Parades. You'll sometimes have a fun fair along with it, it'll all be about some crap local product that employed more then half the town at one point, and then you'll finally get the parade usually full of full of kids with no idea what they're marching for. It's a real fun way to spend a day.

Your town’s parades sound fun. Unfortunately it’s not that fun here. Also, I revolve more around food, and not walking in the heat seeing attractions :P

Book questions:

1. What is one new thing you learned from reading this chapter?

2. What is one thing from this chapter that you knew already before reading today?

Student:

1. Nothing.
2. Nothing.

The kids more honest then me. I don't think I wrote a word of truth in any essay I every wrote in school. "Write about what you learned from this film," fucked if I know teacher, here's 1000 words proving I can write.

Oh yes. I could have taken a course in Advanced Bullshitting when I was in school.

I admire the fact the student is honest. When I write a book report, I tend to go too detailed just to please the teacher. They are an army when angry.

I saw that the YT video for Free Bird had 999k views, so I clicked it and saw the counter turned over to 1,000,073 views.

There's a really nice feeling associated with helping turn the counter over like this.
Capitalism, single-payer healthcare, pro-choice, LGBT rights, progressive personal taxation, low corporate tax, pro-business law, welfare for those in need.
Nazism, edgism, dogmatic statements, most of Abrahamic-derived morality (esp. as law), welfare for those not in need.
We are not Albania and I am not Albanian, FFS!
Male, gearhead, classic rock fan, gamer, agnostic.

In my infinite wisdom, I cut my thumb on a piece of plastic while mopping the floor.

There was this clip thing that you're supposed to release when you're taking out the mop. The mop cloth is detachable. So... It gets a little tight sometimes.

I tried to yank it out, and my thumb was in the middle of the line of fire.

Though luckily, it's been only a day, and my wound is already half-healed.

At least it’s not a cut, though the heat, when prolonged may damage some human cells within. I trust you’re okay, though. :)

Oh that sucks. It’s glad to know your wound is half-healed. Thumb injuries (like the other fingers) are one of the worst parts to get a small cut. Last month, I accidentally poked myself with the sharp part of a compass and it started bleeding like hell. Thank goodness it wasn’t the school season when I had to write and pressing on the pen was going to be hard.
