Fairies probably. Get yourself a four leaf clover to stop the back ache. After that carve turnip into a jack-o'-lantern and leave it at your front door to ward off any more.

Good point. If it's a monkey he should give it a camera so it will get distracted and start taking selfies, then while it's doing that he can call the local zoo.

I find the idea bit's the easy part. It's the actual sitting down and writing bit that stops me.

Can confirm. Most of my dropbox is taken up by writing ideas.

The rest, tasteful nudes.

I can usually manage a page or so. Must outline better. I read somewhere that Raymond Chandler advised writing a mystery story backwards: start with who killed whom and then go backwards and build the mystery. Of course, Chandler's books tended to be a bit convoluted. When they were making The Big Sleep in the middle 1940s ...

During filming, allegedly neither the director nor the screenwriters knew whether chauffeur Owen Taylor was murdered or had killed himself. They sent a cable to Chandler, who told a friend in a later letter: "They sent me a wire ... asking me, and dammit I didn't know either".

Some of my ideas I've worked on for well over a decade but nnnnope, haven't managed to make a coherent work out of any of them yet.

We were taught the writer's discipline during university, when I was taking my BFA in Creative Writing. You really can't rely on inspiration when you write, which is what sucks because it takes a lot of the passion and fun out of it. You can't fuel yourself on passion, you have to really learn how to grind because writing isn't like riding a bike and you just know how to do it instinctively. It's exercise, you need to keep working on it. That's why if I'm not writing plays I'm writing RP in P2TM. It's good to keep the gears churning, and sometimes there's just that one RP I really should post in even if I've lost all my initial drive for it. Discipline > inspiration when it comes to writing fuel.
