I hadn't seen it in years, but seeing people on Twitter and news sources talking about today being 25 years exactly since the genocide started reminded me the movie existed.

So, my mom and I went out today. Two things I saw that I can't stop thinking about:

A sign on the side of a building downtown that just had the phrase "FEED THE BIRD" written on it over and over again, with a pile of birdseed sitting under it. No clue what any of it means and it kinda scares me.

The fact that the STEM section in the bookstore was sitting right next to the New Age section. Something jarring about seeing books on engineering and quantum mechanics sitting next to books on crystal healing and numerology.

People into science but not that into science will tend to "keep their minds open" about such things.
