Haven't you heard? France, Germany, and Sweden all simultaneously declared caliphates last week and are currently implementing Sharia law across the EU alongside their evil non-white minions!

A few things to point out here:
1: All those countries declaring themselves to be a Khilaafah would be horrid. WW3 would break out from that.
2: You don't need to be a Khilaafah to have an Islamic government.
Other than that, I'd like to see that happen :)

I think that while it isn’t inevitable that fascism will become the dominant Western governmental system at any time, I do think that one fascist government will come to power in the near future.

It's certainly possible for fascism to seize total control if the left refuses to fight it, but if people stand against the far right it can certainly be defeated.

Well if most of the criminals are White Anglo Saxon Protestants then maybe you're wasting time shitting your pants over brown people.

Anglo-Saxon Protestants nowadays are a minority among white Americans, much less American citizens as a whole. It strikes me as rather bigoted and unfair to assume that they are responsible for all the crimes committed by American citizens.

While I'm not a fan of either of them, there is a small difference between Trump and Mussolini.

One is a racist with a hatred of democratic systems who willing works with totalitarian states, and the other is Mussolini.

More seriously while Trump is doing everything to divide america racially and destroy healthcare in favor of social darwinism, Mussolini (am much as I dislike him) actually believed in healthcare and didn't go racist until he started sucking up to Hitler (which coincidentally all respect you might've had for him at that point can be trashed). The literal father of fascism cared about his people more than the elected President and senate of the United States.

The Man Who Shot Jiminy Cricket wrote:Liberal democracy is perhaps unaffordable, but fascism remains far too much of a fringe for it to get the support it would need to seize power.

And yet Trump got elected. How comfortable is that rock you were living under.

North German Realm wrote:Corporatocrat authoritarians, actually, which are not fascists but a whole different kind of beast altogether.

Isn't that still just as bad?

Here in the United States you're probably not going to get any more extreme elected officials than Donald Trump (not that he is a fascist), and he is deeply unpopular. A good chunk of the people who think fascism is inevitably rising are wannabe bolsheviks who want an ultimate showdown.

Edit: Also a lot of the "fascists" today are people who simply get mislabeled as such for disagreeing with the left.

You are correct. Trump is the most extreme right elected official. He has stacked Supreme Court with his minions and when he abolishes election, SCOTUS will agree.

Also nice passive attack by mentioning tradition and the church there, classic. The modern Catholic Church, although does teach and promote traditionalism, is slowly falling to modernism.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. Just before people claim that I am calling Trump a fascist: I'm not.

But the claim about the supposed resurgence of far-right, white supremacist and fascist movements in the US hinges critically on a supposed mass of young white men on the internet who form and support these movements. You know, the 'alt right' and 'intellectual dark web' story.

So with that in mind, I think these pictures are relevant:
Image

At best, support for Trump in that young, white, male cohort is evenly split. Trumpism, much like right-wing populism throughout Europe, remains an old people movement. That's not to say that it can't still do plenty of damage. But the way of the future, it is not.
“Every age and generation must be as free to act for itself in all cases as the age and generations which preceded it. The vanity and presumption of governing beyond the grave is the most ridiculous and insolent of all tyrannies. Man has no property in man; neither has any generation a property in the generations which are to follow.”
