Of course. ASEAN does have human rights standards on paper but does absolutely nothing to enforce them whatsoever.

Brunei should be expelled for its massive human rights violations (not just regarding this) as it clearly violates ASEAN human rights standards but will not be because the enforcement is completely non existent.

It is an absolute dictatorship under martial law, freedom of speech and assembly are extremely limited. It is an ethnic state, ethnic Chinese often treated as second class citizens and denied equal rights.

Well seeing as you yourself said that Islam promotes lashing people for having homosexual sex I would Islam does bear partial responsibility for inspiring this law.

They had a foothold in more than one nation (UK and Ireland), so I'd call that international. And there were definite links between the Gay Liberation Front and the Angry Brigade.

I suggest boycott. It is countries like the USA who are propping the Sultan on Brunei up, so I think Americans should take to the streets and push pressure on the U.S. to cut ties.

Unless you can provide some substantial evidence that homosexuality objectively warrants punishment of any kind, let alone 100 lashes, your words are also nothing more than opinion.

Edit: Substantial, verifiable evidence. Not 'Muhammad said it', because I'm sure all sorts of people said all sorts of horrible things 1400 years ago.

It came from Allah SWT, science not an opinion.
But even if it didn't, this could be turned around as well. People going against a punishment for illegal sexual intercourse - or any punishment for any crime whatsoever - are going off of opinions, at least from a kufr (disbelief) perspective.
