What is reprehensible about it? I mean sure, we wouldn't want to see it happen in our countries. But it isn't. It's happening in their country. And the fact the people there aren't starting revolutions over it clearly indicates that is what they want. So what is wrong about it?

Just because the people there might support it does make it any less disgusting. Stoning innocent people is in no way okay no matter what the people there think about it. It is cruelly killing innocent people for no good reason.

SMH, you don't even know that there were multiple stages of the civil war but you still think you can lecture me

If you knew what you were talking about, you'd know that the first stage happened between 1927 and 1937, but then was put on hold in order to fight off the Japanese, and then continued from 1945-1949. However, throughout most of that period, the legitimate China was considered the nationalist side, not the communist, and was continually seen as such up until the 1970's.

But sure, they were allowed into the security council just to stick it to the Russians... who also allowed them in. Of course, makes perfect sense.

Also never mind the fact that even before the split in 57 Mao and Stalin were hardly on the best of terms.

Maybe. Saudi Arabia has the death penalty for witchcraft.
That shit never actually went away entirely.

Sadly. I hope LGBT people in Brunei leave in masse and go to countries with less barbaric laws.

Not starting a revolution is not a good measure of what people want. People do not start a revolution over everything they disagree with.

And given the Brunei is an absolute dictatorship under martial law, the people were never asked.

International law also has human rights provisions.
You do know one law can violate another right?

Brunei should be expelled from ASEAN and the UN for example (not going to happen but would be nice).

And countries against this doe not have to trade with Brunei.

And that wont happen in the name of multiculturalism and the OIC.

Oh I am aware. Obviously the human rights provisions of ASEAN and the UN are never actually enforced by those organizations.
Which is why those organizations are such jokes.

But actually sanctions from some countries could happen though of course China, Russia and the OIC would undermine any sanctions based on human rights. Well any sanctions at all really.

And given the Brunei is an absolute dictatorship under martial law, the people were never asked.

They also give out substantial "incentives" which also likely dissuades the populace from saying anything:

Brunei's ruling royals possess a huge private fortune and its largely ethnic Malay residents enjoy generous state handouts and pay no taxes.

Judging by the fact that tourists usually have to abide by the laws of the country they are visiting, I'm assuming it will. But I think that the Brunei authorities would likely opt for deportation instead, because the total media shitstorm that would erupt in the event of a death sentence being imposed on a gay tourist would seriously damage Brunei's international standing.

Brunei has significant assets outside of the country, so their international standing would likely be important to them.

It's not doing shit against the Philippines while it's killing of its indigenous and poor people either. It's not because of race or anything it's just because ASEAN is nearly totally powerless.
