I find it funny how everyone is going on about how "OMG EU BANS MEMES!!!!!111!" When it was stated in the article and the OP that memes and parodies are exempt from this.

Reminder that Article 13 will not ban memes. This whole story of a meme ban is fake news being peddled by internet pirates, greedy tech companies that profit from pirates using their platforms, Russian trolls, and Neo-Nazis who are trying to destroy the EU and undermine free western society.

But what about things other from parodies ( such as Gameplay or Scientific Shows ) on various platforms, I can tell you all I'm more than afraid they won't have an easy time in this time

Well... at least, once people really start to feel the effects of this - it might be a step on the road to the end of the EU. Hopefully..

I must say I kinda find copyright laws broadly archaic and useless.. In general. It’s a mind boggling social construct that’s all based on the notion that you can “own” ideas in other people’s heads. You can’t. :eyebrow:

At least they had the common sense to add a fair use provision, but I still don't like this law.

Because more than likely it will. Small content creators based in the EU will have issues stemming from this resolution. However, internet denizens can be very resourceful so we’ll see what happens.
