Maybe it's time leftists play that game as well?

It's not people on a particular spectrum, but the disenfranchised in general they are recruiting, hence the Nazi Furry push and the rise of the far right, given that the largest bloc of disenfranchised folk are the white working class and males.

Autism tends toward making you marginalized by society. If White or Male you are already primed by the treatment you have received from the left toward disliking them, but due to the collapse of any kind of faith in right wing economics and disdain for religiosity among younger folk, might not go full conservative. that's where the far-right comes in.

A lot of political memeing on both sides is about trying to normalise radical and socially unacceptable ideas by getting people with low EQ who don't believe them to share them for you under the pretense of irony.

Dumb Ideologies wrote:But the political choice we're being given with the Brexit/Remain struggle in the UK leaves me honestly baffled with which side is the lesser evil.

Our debate seems to be a choice between:

1) Remain, eurofederalism, deepening of current processes, try and stop the "red tape" hampering trade i.e. more free trade deals
2) Free-trade Brexit, unilateral dropping of tariffs with the non-EU world, shift towards non-European immigration

I tend to see choice 1 as the lesser evil, at least with regards to trade. As flawed as it is, the EU at least has more protections for workers, the environment, and human rights than many non-EU countries do. Of course, there are a few exceptions like Canada or Japan, but for the most part the situation is pretty bleak.

That's not how democracy works.

The British system of government is not a pure direct democracy, though, so your criticism is invalid. Sovereignty is vested in the queen and parliament, not in popular referendums.

Lol you totally can in my country Greece we did a referendum and we voted with a majority of 63% that the EU Austerity suck ass and should not be implement as the EU demands and guess how that turned out?

The only thing more unpopular than that, was Tsipras' "FYROM Name Deal".

What makes you think that? Personally I find myself rather uncomfortable with both extremes.

It's not just about low EQ. It's about wearing people down and making them view things in terms of an us and them demographic war. You can take someone perfectly able to empathize and so on, and just convince them not to empathize with a particular group.

socialism is cool and all but can we talk about the social-monarchist sortition system that ensures freedoms of citizens and stability in life along with emphasizing civic duty in all citizens through monarchist tradition and culture synthesizing with random selection of citizens to fulfill civic roles

You might as well just go full Confucianism.

Oh good lord... We provincial elections in one of our major provinces yesterday and, for the seventh time in a row, the neoliberals of Cambiemos got absolutely thrashed by the Peronists. It's happening. It's really happening. A huge, extreme happening is happening.

Well, I would say I am more in favor of the EU than against, but I do not think it should become too centralized.

Tbh, we did have at least one unequivocally good president: Arturo Umberto Illia.

He lasted less than three years ;_;

On the one hand, you've got a Britain clinging on for dear life to every last handrail, lamppost, and security blanket on its halting hesitating way to what would surely be an enervating debilitating Brexit. On the other hand, you got the expense of another referendum. On the other, other hand, the premise of the first one was already flawed.

There is no reason not to unilaterally repudiate a referendum Westminter is not bound to implement and will be disastrous politically, economically, socioculturally, if ever implemented.

I'm more a fan of liberal capitalist democracy where the state doesn't force anyone into any civic roles.

Lack of punctuation marks don't make a word salad, now.
