Holy shit, you actually asked a good question! Well, let me explain a concept known as "punching down." "Punching down" is where the punchline of a joke falls on a historically oppressed group of people (in this case, Holocaust victims). In contrast, "punching up" is where the punchline of a joke falls on the oppressors (in this case, the Nazis). Why aren't the Monty Pyhton sketches offensive (and, by the same token, Allied propaganda)? Because their target was clearly the Nazis. It wasn't ambiguous--they were clearly 100% painting the Nazis as a group of clowns (which, IMO, is still somewhat problematic, as they really weren't and portraying them like that makes them seem like less of a threat than they really are, but that's a separate discussion).

Now, in terms of Dankula, what did he do wrong? Well, it's not entirely clear what he's doing. Sure, he claims he was making fun of the Nazis (and that could be true), but then again it's also entirely possible that he was actually celebrating them and his claim is just a cover story. That's the difference. One is clearly, unambiguously anti-Nazi, the other is questionable and open to interpretation.

This is not open to interpretation. Even if it was open to interpretation, I wouldn't convict aomeone based upon potential interpretation.

While your latter statement is 100% correct not former isn't.
"Least cute" isn't an synonym for "Evilest thing" ever. He could just be referring to his girlfriend's idea of cute rather an a cuteness that related to morality.
The aesthetic of "edgyness" when it interacts with cute is mostly if not all in opposition and cute's meaning depends on the breed of edgy.

In this case it's just a joke and doesn't even put effort in any stance on Nazism. It's just thing his girlfriend doesn't like to see.

Dankuka and people like him (mostly) aren't particularly right leaning, but are just naive free speech absolutists who fail to realise that we must take measures to curtail the actual right who would remove their precious institution in a heartbeat. They can whinge about the "left" (read; liberals) all they wish, no skin off my nose, there are bigger fish to fry.

Fascism works by playing on people's fear, but now that we've seen what Fascism can do, you're gonna need an awful lot of fear to work with if you want to get into power as a Fascist.
