Not very surprising, I must admit. Neither the "rape" part, nor the "hiding" part.

Whats amazing that former liberals, once they are getting against the system, are much more filled with rage an anger than those amongst us who had beforehand some kind of distance towards their former beliefs and worldview.
This is what “To anger a liberal, tell him the truth” meant all along!

Lets say one got particulary mad and upset over the terrorist attacks against Charlie Hebdo and later against the Belgium Brussels airport. Their anger and rage was very real, and also understandable. But perhaps the big difference is that I know we're in a war and ongoing crisis while for them it is all the worse, as it is hurtful strikes into the bubble they have created around themself.
Thus their reactions were much more angry and emotional. If those people ever start changing their allgiance out of those reactions then things will get nasty.
And I say that as someone who's - for liberals anyways - far out there on the right.

Referring to the tensions and attacks between immigrants and natural-born citizens in Europe as a "war" only serves to alienate the other side further. That rhetoric is exactly how terrorists are made.

Those attacks were carried out by ISIS, respectively Al-Qaida.
But my upset liberal friends did draw exact the same conclusion you did unintentionally, they were quick to draw a generalized connection to "Muslims" immigrants however indirectly. Which is something I wouldn, because the vast majority of people whom I know (or suspect) to be muslim, if on paper only, are an average, diverse, everyday hard working people.
They do not deserve the blame and they run as everyone else if not much more danger to become caught in the crossfire of the ongoing conflict.

The interesting thing about this post is that I never said anything about Islam, suggesting that you are perhaps projecting a bit here.

Am I detecting toxic masculinity and enforcement of traditional gender roles? Shocking.
