Ageism

I actually get more ageism as an adult, people telling me they’re forty, which is about 12 years away for me. Should we submit resumes to older people before we speak with them, or just madam and sir? Or some other solution? I actually recommend a visit to the gulag, but I’m open to ideas.

I personally suggest free housing and guns for minors to combat ageism, along with participation in cooperative enterprise.

Nah, the only thing they need is a proper OP.

Yes, I agree. The OP needs more meat on its bones. Examples of the ageism encountered, perhaps.

Ok, well I had a desk person today tell me they’re forty, they could have just told me not to talk to them. It also came up once in college. And my father did it though to be honest I was oblivious to it. The saying would go that I “talk like a little adult”.

In the OP, is what I meant. Edit the first post. And to be honest, I don't understand the example? A desk person? Are you wanting to talk about ageism in general?

Honestly it was a repurposed Facebook post. But that sounds like a good idea.

Nothing wrong with the topic. Just needs a better opening. Update the op and we can continue.

I got nothing, I'll come up with a better op tomorrow, lock the thread if you want.

Ageism works both ways, it just depends on who you're presenting yourself to. Some people will think you're too young and other people will think you're too old. You can't control your age so there's no point worrying about it. You can get around it to some extent, if you're appealing enough in other ways to someone; but sometimes there's no helping getting passed over if you're a particular age.

Just embrace what you can get or create your own opportunities. Easier said than done, but whining about how the world is doesn't change anything.

I wasn't whining, I was promoting firearms for minors.

If you make this kind of suggestion on a regular basis, I don't think your age is the reason people aren't taking you seriously.

It's more likely the poor quality of your suggestions.

Is it just me, or is Soviet Technocracy2 talking a little incoherently?

The problem? It is a factor. Older people are being denied opportunities simply because of their age. The bro culture stepped on the proverbial gas pedal with this problem. You listen to wankers like Zuckerburg (only good ideas come from young people); it's more prevalent then you think. Google has to bad cases they are going to pay a great deal of money to settle out of court. Being the arrogant dumb fucks they are; they tossed an old worker because he didn't work fast enough. He was disabled. He will get a great deal of money over that......

Unfortunately I have been criticized for poor grammar and college didn't fix it, despite my efforts.

You sound more like a Liberian warlord trying to justify your army of child soldiers.

Look, minors need guns to prevent abuse and to support their housing demands.

You know what you're right, it's not a bad idea. It's an exceedingly awful idea.

Nonsense. The small size of children serves them well in foxholes and the nature of crew operated weapons builds teamwork skills.

I think so too, and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

In other words you have to make the best of bad circumstances.

And that means arming kids for the foreseeable future to protect their rights.

Yeah... You're not being discriminated against for your age. The problem is the bad ideas you're spewing.
