Wait what.

You know, I'll admit that at first I was picturing the sort of jellyfish that were in Finding Nemo. In hindsight that was incredibly naive.

There’s a huge huge variation of what they may look like

Not to mention this isn’t on Earth :(

Seems like something I could do with a 60% success rate, so... I'm in.

I have no problems against the jellyfish (or at least because I know that they can't hurt me). If it was anything else like doing a bungee jump or anything height-related, then I'll say "Hell no" to that.

But this is about jellyfish, not heights, so... yeah.

P.S.: These hypotheticals are getting stranger and crazier.

In all seriousness, no, not because of the jellyfish, but because I'm terrified of the ocean.

Jellyfish aren't that scary though. The massive drug trip part would be startling for a bit but once you got used to it it'd probably be a very calming experience.

It's not really bravery when you've gone to some length to tell us that there's no danger at all, it just looks weird as hell. And, you know. People pay money to do drugs.

I stand by my opinion that zoning out for an hour would make for super easy money.

Jellyfish are that awesome! It's a shame when going scuba diving and you see them cause you get too close to them unless you're wearing a special suit or they're the non-stinging kind.

I think jelly fish are beautiful and would happily spend an hour suspended in a bubble under water.
The glow of the ocean would be enough light to keep me calm and the exhiliration of actually passing through some gigantic 'alien' jellyfish physiology is just too grand to pass up.

Yes?

This sounds boring, to be honest.

So you want me to stare at floating blobs for an hour? Heck, some jellyfish are beautiful to look at. I get 1 million dollars for doing it for an hour?

Where's an application, I want a part-time job doing it. I'll have world hunger cured by the end of 2030.

Oceans in general are pretty cool to me, and I'd happily take an hour of peace with some jellyfish for much, much less than a million dollars. Not sure if I'd pay to do it, but for a hundred bucks? Ten? Zero? Yeah, fair enough.

man, and there was somebody in my old NS region who'd be even more hyped than me for jellyfish

If I underwent this challenge, I have no doubt that within a few minutes I will be in a state of complete shock and terror. I might even pass out as soon as I see the thousand jellyfish floating all around me. The idea of slowly (or rapidly) approaching the alien ones the size of buildings...

there's just something absolutely disturbing about the way these large jellyfish move and the eeriness of the underwater environment and how they are thousands of them all around...

I don't think I'd even be able to move at all; I'd completely lose control of all of my limbs.

Yeah it's not worth decades of psychiatric treatment after. Its going to be all I see for many many many nights.

A Big No for me to this challenge.

There is NO WAY I last the full 1 hour. NO WAY.

If Japanese pornography has taught me anything, it's that you will start to enjoy the tentacles part way through.

I think you're overestimating how much other people are afraid of Jellyfish.

Infected Mushroom wrote:the size of buildings...

Not a thing (that we know of). The Lion's Mane Jellyfish is massive don't get me wrong, but the largest know specimen only had a bell size of 2.3 metres. It's the tentacle length that is that big (at 37 metres) but even then it would not appear to be that large since aside from strands in the water you'd only see the bell section.

Okay then, sure. I've always wanted to go diving and never had the time to do so. This looks like a 100 percent safe way to see some really cool underwater stuff.

I’m terrified of the ocean

We went on this class trip where we swam in in the middle of a sea

There was a metallic platform in the middle

I went into the sea with the others but within minutes I had to get back on the platform

I kept imagining there were tentacled things under the dark salty water that might grab and pull

You could not see under as you floated and it was bad...

Oh sure, I mean if you were actually afraid of the ocean or jellyfish then this would be hell. I get that alright.

Nah matey, if you're afraid of the ocean and of jellyfish that's cool, you couldn't pay me any amount to be covered in tarantulas. I'm more saying the alot of people, maybe even most probably aren't to bothered by the jellyfish.

As for tentacles pulling you down to the deeps, jellyfish won't do that. Giant squids on the other hand...
