Viking Discussion Thread

Hello NSG, I got bored so I thought I would make a thread about Europe's past raiders also known as the Vikings and I think it would be interesting to talk about their history, culture, and battles.

For those who don't know what a viking is here is some historical context.

This may not get popular, but its a worth a shot anyway the topic we'll be discussing is "Who is your favorite Viking and why?"

My Opinion- I feel like this guy is underrated since some Historians overlook him, but my favorite Viking Leif Erikson. The reason why I picked him was because he was the first European to set foot on North America and was able to establish a small Norse Settlement.

So NSG, who is your favorite viking and why?

Other topics we can discuss are the Vikings history, battles, politics, and their culture!

I've always felt an appreciation for the Vikings and their love of the sea, in the same way that I imagine human beings appreciate their ancestors and their cultural heritage.
