I might nuance the difference between being proud of one's nation, patriotism and then nationalism as a more distinct thing.. but yes, radical beliefs are the problem and I guess my point is that we're in a world where such radicalism crosses borders very easily whereas solutions do not.. especially in a world where nations are closing doors.

Being white isn't the problem, nationalism is.. being Muslim isn't the problem, being radical is.

The problem isn't the entire concept of nationalism. It's the people who take the idea past just being proud of one's country to the point where they view any 'foreign' or 'outside' influence as unacceptable.

I suspect it's just the one, and he targeted two mosques per his manifesto.. then a car with a bomb - it's basically a variation on the Anders Breivik plan, a bomb to distract the police while you carry out a massacre.

Given how he cites Breivik as his inspiration..

Super sad for NZ, but this could happen anywhere. It's in no way a reflection on NZ.
