From what I remember, Muslims didn't end up conquering Europe, so pretty sure it wasn't “God power” as it was good circumstances and military tactics on the part of the Arabs. Defeating armies much larger than yours are impressive, but by no means proof of divine powers (see Napoleon, Emperor Meiji, etc.)

Rome died because it had a trash government. Much to the surprise of everyone, having a civil war every five minutes is bad.

Having your army sell your seats of governmemt is bad.
