In regards to the castration of Prussia by the Soviets and others, I still maintain we had no reason to even leave the notion of a German identity intact. We should have turned each of the occupation zones into perspective countries, and created Berlin as a unified free city.

It's stated plan was reduce what was left of Germany to a medieval level of living. Also, it's identity was to be destroyed as the German state would cease to exist and what Germans remained would be assimilated as Poles, Dutch, Danes, Czechs, and French.
