Parthians did not believe in the Zoroastrian equivalent of the Divine Right to Kingship though, and didn't the Egyptians almost literally think their god was a "manifestation" of Horus?

Is it just me, or does ancient Rome seem like it had its own version of the Yellow Peril? The stereotyping of the East (Egypt, Syria, etc.) has a lot in common with later stereotypes of “Orientals.”

Is it just me, or does almost every Asian superpower seem like it had its own version of the White Peril? The stereotyping of the West (America, Britain, etc.) has a lot in common with later stereotypes of “white imperialists.”

Did you ever hear the tragedy of the Hellenes? I thought not. It's not a story the Diadochi would tell you. It's a Western legend. The Hellenes were a free culture, so powerful and so wise they could use statecraft to influence cultures to create liberty… they had such a knowledge of Orientalism that they could even keep the ones they cared about from falling under a despot's throne. The Oriental side of statecraft is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. They became so powerful… the only thing they were afraid of was losing their power, which eventually, of course, they did. Unfortunately, they taught their basileus everything they knew, then their basileus enslaved and persified them. Ironic. They could save others from slavery, but not themselves.

It's because the Sassanid revolt specifically happened because some Zoroastrian Mage told a local petty king "You have the Divine Right to Kinghood, why should some piece of garbage [i]voted in by the Meghisthanes[,i] be the King in your place? [of course, there was more to it than that, but you know], so I was surprised to hear the Parthians believed in the Divine Right of Kinghood (Far-i Izadi, I think)

EDIT: Apparently, a form of Imperial Cult did exist in the Parthian Empire.
