We also sold stuff to Germany. Germany should have invested more in those submarines.

Lusitania was the British being dirty.
Still it made for bad optics. But I was not talking about Lusitania, she was not an American ship.
Just because something might be legally justified does not necessarily make it a good idea.
The tiny advantage Germany gained by sinking her was outweighed by the massive diplomatic cost.

But she did not cause the US entry. It was the sinking of 5 American ships in March 1917 that caused it.

The Zimmerman telegram was just unforgivably stupid. Especially when Zimmerman admitted to sending it. And the Germans should have realized the Mexican Government was not stupid enough to go for it before sending it in the first place.

One U-Boat in 1916 versus supplying the Entente for almost the entire conflict?

The Germans only sent two, and one sank.
They could have sent more instead of launching attacks on us ships.

Would have benefited them more.

And again justified or not does not make a decision good.
A justified attack can still be stupid if it costs you more than you gain.

Zombie Ike/Teddy Roosevelt 2020.

Novus America represents my vision of an awesome Atompunk near future United States of America expanded to the entire North American continent, Guyana and the Philippines. The population would be around 700 million.
Think something like prewar Fallout, minus the bad stuff.

Politically I am an independent. I support what is good for the country, which means I cannot support either party.

There's a difference between having a nihilistic outlook on life as opposed to adopting Nihilism as a governing philosophy.

Yes, because mass disenfranchisement has worked so well in the past.

Considering that mass disenfranchisement has been the sum of human history until about the 1990s, yes.

If they're too dumb to know things about cows, they're probably not smart enough to remember to vote often enough for it to be a problem :p the other 80% and 93% are doing most of the deciding

You can have a republic with elections, and still have reasonable requirements for voting.

That’ll never be abused.
Also, what constitutes a “reasonable requirement”?

Statistically speaking, several of those included in the percentages have to be voters and, even if they aren't, the mere fact there is nothing to prevent that from changing is deeply concerning.
