Not quite. I'm merely stating a simple truth - that coercion is an inevitable aspect of human experience and that it underlines most of our social interactions, especially in political and economic contexts. Consent is one way in which we restrict the more deleterious instances of coercion in our social interactions, but even this is subject to cultural and social factors. My argument is that we're not individuals floating in a vacuum. We don't just possess and shape culture and social values. We're also possessed and shaped by them.
