New poll up. Also, I appreciate the love we're giving to the Bulgar-Slayer. He was one of the more dynamic and interesting of the Eastern Roman Emperors.

I mean, how many times has it been that you've referred to me as Tor (a fucking browsing system) since I came out as trans, or Torrocca when literally next to nobody ever uses full nation names on this site?

That's what I'm talking about. I don't think these statements of respect are genuine because of that. But whatever.

That's remarkably picky and bizarre tbh.

Gotta agree here. I generally think the worst of neonazis, but shortening a nickname in the wrong way when the nickname doesn't seem to have some sort of sinister double meaning seems remarkably... minor.

As far as I know, no one's been stabbed to death, blinded, or exiled over it.

It's not really a concern, I'm merely bringing up the fact that it's a preference of mine and it's been that way for a long while now, and the fact that it's kinda just ignored by OEP makes me question his statements regarding respect about me.

Why are you like this, CM?

It was necessary for the preservation of the Res Publica.
They did manage to assist in assassinating (or forcing suicide on) a few emperors.

Outside of periods of civil war, which were rare at the height of the Pax Romana? Not particularly.
Also, don't you shill for Augustus?

No. I shill for Tiberius.

Vespasian passed power peacefully to Titus, Titus to Domitian. Domitian was killed for trying to become a tyrant, but all his supporters were left unharmed and allowed to continue to participate in politics. Nerva passed power peacefully to Trajan, Trajan passed power peacefully to Hadrian, Hadrian to Antoninus Pius, Antoninus Pius to Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, Aurelius to Commodus.

I mean Tiberius's reforms could've saved the Republic from the corrupt Senate.
The Senate made the overthrowing of the Republic inevitable.

And what is the Crisis of the Third Century (192 AD - 284 AD) and the Shitshow that was between Diocletian and Constantine's reigns (305 AD - 324 AD)? A little longer than one year, don't you think?

I'm just saying, he talks about respect but doesn't really show it. If it's as picky or as minor as you, OEP, and CM are saying, then what makes such an inconsequential thing so difficult to entertain out of respect? His actions contradict his statements.

Complaining about someone calling you Tor would be like me complaining about someone calling me OEP; it's just short hand for the full username and done for ease. Complaining about someone using your full username, despite the fact you literally picked that, is likewise bizarre; it's like complaining about someone using your first name.
