It seems that left-wing students have adopted an almost authoritarian attitude towards other students whose views do not correspond to their own. We are seeing the growth of echo-chambers everywhere. Some universities, in the UK and other countries, have allowed the creation of ideological "safe-spaces". There is also a great marginalization of persons with political views deemed "unmodern" and "incorrect". Of course I do not belong to the alt-right, but now many social liberals and socialists are deeming thinkers such as Jordan Peterson as "far-right". Look at the recent events in New Zealand, and you will see that I am not rambling conspiracy theories here.
As a result of this pluralism of ideological viewpoints being shattered, many have flocked to their own echo-chambers as well. As the rhetoric is getting more aggressive from the Left, the more the Right will strike back. I have observed that far-right echo-chambers have seduced a huge chunk of people into its abyss, mainly young men, whom they feel that everybody in this world have rejected them. I could write more about incels being the result of a harsh market-competition as a result of the Sexual Revolution. But this post will not be dedicated to that. Back to the post, we can already see that far-right echo-chambers are experiencing a huge influx of supporters. As the echo-chambers will inflate, so will the resistance. The progressive Left will try to issue more restrictions and end up looking like autocrats to many people.
After all, millennial socialism is not alone:

At last, my question will be:
Will there eventually be a huge conflict between far-right authoritarians and progressive socialists in the future?
The thread "Is Fascism Inevitable?" got me thinking a bit. Of course my generation is not prone to far-right seduction. But I think the future will bring many events (mostly climate change, which will have social implications as well) which will cause my next generations to doubt democracy.

"The right will strike back instead of having gotten in free hits for the past twenty years from their echo chambers and getting whingy now because they're getting a taste of their own medicine"
"Jordan Peterson isn't an alt-right muppet"
"Incels were caused by the sexual revolution"
lol
Sorry that liberalism is beginning to find its sense of moral conviction again.

Does most of the right wing deny climate change, or is that just a bunch of nut jobs who either think it's something to do with "dem globalists" or they're tea party/corporate shills?

I would say downfall of arranged marriages was an effect rather than a cause, and was only symptom of the breakdown of local social networks that created the arranged marriage.

I disagree - arranged marriage in the West began falling apart before industrialization and mobile labor pools broke down local social networks; and furthermore, persisted in many non-Western countries which suffered those selfsame problems.

Yeah, they sure are not dangerous. But some have taken their convictions into reality:

May I also remind you that the decline of arranged marriages are the result of promiscuity's widespread popularity?

How can that be? Arranged marriage fell out of style long before promiscuity became the norm.

Perhaps, but even so, the incel/love shy/ whatever you want to call it phenomenon still didn't exist quite yet, it wasn't until later that it begins to really take form and become a serious social ill.

It only didn't exist as a community, or a mindset - the percentage of individuals who never married in previous eras of the modern age was, in some cases, greater than modern estimates of those who have never been in a committed relationship.

I think climate change denialists are corporate shills; some of them know what they are doing, but many of them just seem to be brainwashed.

Press X to doubt. Outside of particular circumstances, like monastics, individuals in the 19th century Anglosphere were very much expected to marry, and doubly so for women.

I didn't mean the 19th century. The incel phenomenon existed by then and was widely discussed in literature. Some of Dostoevsky's major books revolve around such persons.

But in Dostoevsky's era and region, local ties were still very strong in comparison to other modern countries?
