There is no conceivable non-nuclear scenario where a united ummah can threaten American hegemony -- though it might well give Israel, Zionist or not, the boot.

While Muslim countries do make up a large portion of the world's oil production, America by itself produces quite a lot, and any circumstance that involves the Muslim world uniting would likely make unlikely allies out of the US and Russia, with countries such as Canada, Brazil, Norway, the United Kingdom, and Colombia all very likely to get involved as well, being themselves significant oil producers.

China is much harder to predict; while they're anti-Islam and anti-West, it's likely that this hypothetical pan-Muslim state would try and include East Turkestan and the Hui, creating at least a de facto ally out of the PRC.

Because I think it could provide a good basis for American culture to develop in a more organic and sophisticated direction rather than the current capitalist and consumerist model it currently has. There's a strong emphasis on self-cultivation and meritocracy that I think the American mindset can appreciate, and the metaphysics of the Chu Hsi school have a secular character which appeals to classicism and doesn't require either belief in a God or disbelief. Nor does it call for a rejection of the Founding Fathers, on the contrary, a lot of East Asians who were inspired by Confucius idolized George Washington as an American equivalent of a sage. It would be easy to incorporate the Founding Fathers into a sort of Americanized Neo-Confucianism which sees the equivalent of the Analect's values in the Constitution and other American thinkers.

Because I think it could provide a good basis for American culture to develop in a more organic and sophisticated direction rather than the current capitalist and consumerist model it currently has.
