It's akin to the portrayal of terrorism. The media has made a caricature about how a group of people is evil and has negative traits, written a narrative about it, and is now pushing it. They're doing this with the backing of an ideology that outgroups that demographic and pushing that ideology, just like they did to muslims.

The instances you mentioned actually involved grown adults harassing others. No such thing happened here. These kids weren't harassing or hurting anyone. They were just saying stupid things which happens a lot in high school, believe it or not.

You understand INDIVIDUAL people saying racist things can be a topic to discuss, but if you ONLY talk about one race of people doing that, it's because you're driving a narrative about that group, not discussing prejudice. I didn't mention Trump at all. And I am well aware. We need to look to the future and do this for our future, not the past nor blame anyone in particular.

I am not blaming Republicans for this in this instance, they may have been Democrat-aligned for all I know. Besides, blaming parties is useless. Even if correct, it fans the flames.

These particular students need to be taught that this is not ok. If they show remorse, fine. But, posting a web video like this to get views is sickening.

They deserve to be punished. Community Service, maybe Juvie, or working at a multiethnic workplace, as community service. Either way, they need to be punished.
