What? Those don’t even remotely relate.

Are you trying to say you want to debate me on this, but won’t because a moderator said to stay on topic (as you’re supposed to)? Because if that is, then I think zig understand what you mean.

Regardless, I’d be happy to talk about it somewhere else.

Precisely what I'm saying.

That's exactly what she's saying. The LWDT might be a good place to bring this conversation.

No worries, it's all groovy ^_^

But, yeah, we should really get back to the topic at hand. Is Jerry Falwell's recent threat to shoot AoC relevant to this thread? Because that sounds like something conversation-worthy.

I’m not bringing a discussion about this into a topic where it would essentially be an echo chamber of people ranting at me saying I’m wrong, but thanks for the offer.

Regardless, back to the source topic from the OP.

Too bad about all that union busting.

Funny you mention that. I support Industry wide mandatory unionization and collectivization agreements

Oh man, that irony. THAT IRONY. I don't think you could have made a more tone-deaf statement. Also, Cortez is not intelligent. Even Democrats agree with us on that.

lmao nope. But do keep corncobbing yourself in public over a single congresswoman, please. It's a very good look.

Farn, please either participate in the thread or dispassionately enforce the rules in it. You know better than to think doing both is acceptable.

The 'ole turd produced offspring, one of which is the aforementioned Jerry Falwell Jr.

We're actually stuck in the 1980s.

One explanation for that.

I don't think that's the take-away here. It would be nice if I got a pass on more things for being pretty though. :eyebrow:

Uh what? She's a politician.

Politicians don't have sex, and are therefor incapable of being sexy.

Why else is it a big scandal every time we find out a politician is having sex with someone if it isn't because it's proof they aren't really a politician?

Apparently, NS mods wont do anything if you do. They've actually participated in the threadjack. I think they're hoping it will get so bad I will throw my hand up and ask them to lock it.

Yeah, that's probably it...couldn't possibly be because the moderation team consists of a handful of unpaid volunteers who have jobs and families and lives of their own, and so have quite a lot on their plate besides addressing your specific needs.

They seem to have no shortage of time time to entrap me or leak the content of my GCRs to harassers.

You do realise there is an actual procedure for reporting moderator abuse, and being passive-aggressive on the forums is not it, right?

If you believe a thread-jack is occurring, and it looks like a thread-jack is occurring at the moment - one I've perhaps nudged a bit and then tried to get back on topic, you can try to rein it in through commenting on the actual subject of the thread or you can link the thread in Moderation. I would encourage you to do the latter at this point if you feel the rules are being broken and there's no other recourse. Beyond that, I'll try to get us back on topic.

If the accusations of campaign finance violations turn out to be true, and I know that's a big if at the moment, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is fined, will anyone who has supported her here change their minds about who she is or what she stands for?

Eh, reading through this and the articles I'm seeing an awful lot of "fluff" - I mean she can still be for better, greener transport and have to have her team use cars and that. Quite apart from the security issues, that line of reasoning is a bit like the whole "oh you hate capitalism but you use an Iphone!" gotcha. Yeah, you can criticize a system that by necessity you have to use.

The rest? I dunno. There's a lot of speculation, and when taken with the whole "but she uses cars!!!" crap it just reads like someone's chucking absolutely everything they can at the wall to see what sticks. I doubt it'll convince anyone with an opinion on her one way or the other, but it sure is interesting to see the big guns being deployed on both sides of the acceptable political spectrum against her.

People associated with AOC's campaign may have done something dodgy with finances, or they may not have.

Also her campaign team etc. use cars.

It's already been reported and apologized for.

The guy to jump started AOC's(and that of many of the New Democrats) campaign has diverted funds from her campaign to his corporations, and AOC is defending it.
