I think it's mostly because she's a pretty easy target for attacks and smears. Her policy proposals aren't strictly speaking feasible. She's had a lot of gaffes that weren't widely reported. And she has been trumpeted as a rising star in the Democratic Party - one of its youngest, freshest faces. It's definitely excessive, but it makes sense as for a mud-raking ever does.

My point was that the arguments about restraint and temperance were a bit disingenuous when not consistently applied. The cases themselves are quite different beyond that. Trump and Kavanaugh were accused of far more serious charges and denied that any of the described events occurred. Ocasio-Cortez denied that the described events represented crimes or ethical breaches. As you said. Even if they were illegal though, they're not quite as serious as conspiracy to fix an election or treason. My comment wasn't really intended to defend her and I'm overall rather critical of her.
