And you are purposefully missing the point of her principles and doing what neoliberalism has been doing for years when it comes to environmental policy: making individual consumers responsible, rather than paying attention to the larger picture of systemic and structural issues, particularly on the supply side.

Again, her argument wasn't "individual Americans have to stop using cars right now". Her argument was "invest in more efficient forms of transportation so individual Americans won't need to use gas-fueled cars in the near future". You are holding her to a standard she never set for anyone.

No you are purposefully misrepresenting the point. The point is; why would she expect that Americans would switch from cars to trains simply because they're available, when she, an american herself, still prefers to travel through NYC by car rather then use it's mass transit system. If NYC's mass transport system isn't good enough to convince her to make the switch, how can she expect investment to work in places that aren't as well suited to mass transport, or people who aren't as ostensibly environmentally conscious to make the switch from cars?

No newspaper is without bias unfortunately. That's why MBFC says "Least Biased" for the most neutral sources and not "Not Biased", as to be without any bias would be ridding someone of what it means to be human.

My apologies, it said Cortez was in hot water, so I thought it involved her campaign actions (e.g. boyfriend nominally on staff for a salary, boyfriend with campaign-registered E-Mail, etc.), and not those of her Chief of Staff. I don't hold Cortez responsible for her Chief of Staff's alleged embezzlement.

From what I know about the alleged embezzlement, Alexandria Cortez was innocent in that matter and her camapign was a victim of a man who allegedly betrayed her to line his own pockets. Either way, Cortez's actions are punishable by the FEC issuing a fine; they are petty and not really cause for a criminal complaint.

The Chief of Staff, however, could go to jail for years if he did what they claim he did.

If you think about it, her using taxis and planes, both herself and her campaign, instead of buses and trains really just goes to show that buses and trains need more investment. Which...isn't that something she wants? More investment for those things?

And while I'm here having a think, it seems to me that it's usually going to make more sense for her personally to use private transportation these days, even if public mass transit is available. She's a member of Congress, and a fairly controversial one at that. She'd probably need police protection if she was going to take the bus to Capitol Hill every morning, lest some member of the public try to assassinate her before she bans burgers.

You think that's bad? Cortez's Chief of Staff allegedly embezzled money out of Cortez's campaign (presumably without her consent) into shell companies (which he owned) that were supposed to do campaign operations. Now that money is gone.

Cortez's thing with her boyfriend is only punishable by a fine, but stealing between eight hundred thousand and one million dollars from your boss' campaign coffers... I'm pretty sure that's a crime!

When everyone gets a participation trophy equal to the winner, no one knows how to lose. (BTW, I don't blame the kids for that entitled mindset. I blame the parents who neither disciplined nor taught them the sort of things. They never asked for the trophies.)
