Elaborating Farnham Ida's post, the term soccer is used, especially amongst the Americans, because in the US, there are two types of football: association football, what the rest if the world calls football, and American football, which is a completely different sport altogether. Thus, we use 'soccer'. People want to use the term soccer, so what? There's nothing wrong there, so the OP still can use it. I hope I've enlightened you.

So what match ups would we like to see now we're in the QF stages.. personally I'd like:

Man U - Juventus - lots of stories here from '99 to Ronaldo against his old club, I think it would be an interesting match
Ajax - Tottenham - two relatively young and attack minded teams
Liverpool - Man City - given the fight for the PL this would be awesome
Barcelona - Porto - no real reason other than they're left over.
Eldest, that's what I am...Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn...he knew the dark under the stars when it was fearless — before the Dark Lord came from Outside..

It's obvious that the final will be disputed between Barcelona and Juventus. It's a repeat of the 2009 final where Chelsea were screwed out of semis simply because UEFA wanted to see Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo. By that notion, I assume City vs United will be staged at QF as well.

I'd like Ajax to see Porto or Man U. Tottenham as 3rd.

The other four are tougher. Especially for the style that Ajax plays.

Man U would be a nice game, since it would be a redo of the EL final of two (?) years ago.

Yeah I was surprised because Ukraine isnt in the most peaceful of situations right now whereas Portugal is the current reigning European champion with one of the 2 best players in the world as their talisman.
