As it is a surgical procedure, as I understand it, unless a pharmaceutical trademarks it (which I doubt they can do), I don’t think they can go too high on the price. Not that they wouldn’t try in some places, but still.

No, you can’t trademark a surgical procedure. Even trying to, in any way, would have your case instantly defeated and you turned into a laughing stock. Imagine the Fine Bros trying to copyright react videos, but with a company and it being 10x worse and larger in magnitude.

A cure for cancer would be a...complicated matter. You would essentially have to stop cell mutation as a whole, which would be extremely hard and would probably stunt human evolution.

I don't know about that. You couldn't necessarily find a vaccine against cancer but once it starts and is discovered, a treatment to knock out the tumors would be an excellent find.

Certainly good, but unfortunately at this point it the sources say it is not something that can be easily used to cure large numbers. It is a complicated and risky procedure that only works in certain cases.
A step in the right direction but needs a lot more.

Hopefully they can somehow create a drug that has the same effect but can be mass produced and distributed.

I never specified exactly what was being suppressed. Just a "cure" for something. I assumed that would be a vague enough word to use. What do you think would have been a better term instead? Not "surgical procedure" or "drug". An umbrella term is what I'm talking about. Telegram me about it. I don't want to derail this thread anymore with discussions about my fail.

Gentle reminder hospitals in the US are corporations. 5 minutes with a doctor in the ER can cost $250 and the hospital can bill it in a way that avoids the insurance copay/limitation of the cost of an ER visit.
