I agree that we probably need to resort to authoritarian methods to solve our current environmental crisis, but punishing innocent people and committing rape are completely unacceptable.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

With the media’s recent record I’m going to go with the paramilitaries are tourists who politely asked the villager, an actual sex slave trafficker mastermind, to stop impaling children vlad the impaler style while riding an endangered rhino species.

That’s how much I trust the accuracy here.

Godulan Puppet #2, RPing as technologically advanced tribal society founded by mongols and vikings (and later with multiple other Asian and Native American cultures) motivated by an intrinsic devotion to the spirit of competition. Used NS stats: Population. That’s it. Anything else not stated in the factbooks is not used.

Intro RP: Gravity Ships and Garden Snips (involved tribes: Plainsrider, Hawkeye, Wavecrasher)
Current RP: A Rock Out of Place (involved tribes: Night Wolf, Deep Kraken, Starwalker)

"Put the fucking Panda down, or else I will rape you!"
"Alright! Okay, okay! Good Panda"
"Fuck it, you're being raped anyways!"

Found this little gem from 2017: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 64756.html

Anti-poaching patrols in central Africa have been accused of committing atrocities against local tribes in order to protect wildlife. A report by Survival International, a UK-based group campaigning for tribal peoples' rights, alleges that wildlife guards funded by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and other conservation organisations "harass, beat, torture and kill" people of the Baka, or Bayaka, tribes.

WWF has rejected the charges in the report and said it was "shocked and saddened to hear of the violence and abuse of indigenous people." Mike Hurran, a researcher at Survival International, told The Independent the report summarises "the history of human rights abuse that happens in the name of conservation in" the Congo Basin between Cameroon, the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic.

It's somewhat less badass when the group they're paying is pointing guns at villagers not poachers.

Plot twist, most poaching is done by the local villagers. This is why conservationists are so big on allying conservation with hunting, it turns animals that are a pest and a danger into valuable assets, while ingesting the cash to protect those assets.

Well, at least the WWF isn't killing what it's supposed to be protecting. That counts for something, I suppose.

mfw PETA has placed the bar so low that hiring paramilitary torturers to protect wildlife doesn't automatically make you the worst charity.

If this is true, then a movement should be established to boycot the charity, and they should be sued if there is sufficient evidence.

I think you've got things a little screwed up. Conservation and hunting have long been intertwined, probably as long or longer than conservation and the "animal rights" movement have been. It's a little weird to talk about conservation and hunting as if they're separate things when they overlap more often than not.

Well, guards doing naughty things isn't really news, especially in war torn areas of the globe.

What is sad is that paramilitary forces have to be hired in the first place so Earth's animals aren't hunted to extinction.
