International Response to a Second American Civil War

With the political divide growing more and more extreme, some people are wondering if America will survive the next few years. While it's unlikely to escalate to anything more than rioting at worse, how would the world react if an actual civil war occured? I can assume that Russia, Iran, Venezuela, and North Korea would be happy with everyone else looking on terrified but otherwise I'm not sure of the specifics.

For us, it'd be a nightmare. For the world, it'd be either a wonderful or horrible distraction.

• The PRC would utilize such a distraction to invade Taiwan, effectively ending the rightful Chinese government-in-exile. Beijing would also likely be emboldened to commit some more genocides and invasions elsewhere.
• It's entirely likely that the Middle East's biggest anti-Israel players would use the distraction to violently remove what they believe to be an evil tumor from the region. Hell, there may be two coalitions - one Sunni, one Shi'ite - which would likely be fighting each other as well, turning into a real clusterfuck. I'd be surprised if Israel could pull off another unlikely victory.
• Russia could possibly use the opportunity to annex both Belarus and the Donbass (if not all Ukraine).
• There could be a serious panic attack in South Korea and Japan though I doubt the Norks have the balls to use the opportunity to strike tbh.
• Saudi dominance in the MidEast would be called into question and we'd likely see a cold war between them and Iran.
• Jihadists would likely also be emboldened to launch strikes against Western and Pro-Western targets, even potentially on American soil.
• Turkey would invade Rojava full-on, let's be honest.
• Most of Europe would have a collective heart attack as they now have to *GASP* fund their own defenses!
• There'd be a refugee crisis in Canada, obviously.
• Mexicans in the border states would likely head back south, depending on the intensity of the violence.
• The global economy would go down the drain overnight, which would just fuck over literally everyone in the world.
• Most of our allies outside of NATO, ANZAC, and maybe Japan and SK would abandon us most definitely.
• All those countries getting aid from the US? Yeah, they're fucked too.
• Celebrations would probably occur across Latin America and the Middle East, up until the aforementioned economic crash starts hurting them.

All-in-all, a Second American Civil War would be bad for just about everybody.

Yeah its a big risk to intervene. LEts say the EU decided to intervene in favor of the North East. The South and Midwest would likely have access to the nuke stockpiles and rather than fight out a long war with northern and EU forces.

Our enemies would rejoice that's for sure, and you'll have international players intervening in our civil war, just like we currently do to other countries. NATO and Russia would probably back opposing rebel groups in such a conflict.

If Israel unavoidably faces destruction by all its enemies launching a genocidal invasion, MAD comes into play. So add a migrant crisis composed of the middle east’s entire surviving population fleeing for somewhere that isn’t radioactive to the list of geopolitical catastrophes in this scenario.

An economic crash that sends the world spiraling on its knees. Considering China has 90% of its trade with the US, and Japan and Germany both work under our wing to an extent, I doubt there would be much of a functioning global intervention for a while.

Saudi dominance in the MidEast would be called into question and we'd likely see a cold war between them and Iran.

I'd argue we already have a cold war, this would just switch up the game.

Luckily, the US is a lot more stable then we can sometimes appear. Even with a mad reactionary in office, and some other issues to embolden it (*Totally Real Cough Two-party System*), we're doing pretty well for the moment, and will be fine, if not much better.

There are people who would rather see the US destroyed than allow the legislative and/or judicial branches to properly exercise their Constitutional duties of oversight over the executive, especially when it comes to the latter's most deplorable policies and likely collusion with the nation's most formidable adversaries. Be that as it may the friends of the US, Europe most notably, will not wait for us to fix ourselves. They are busy making plans for a world without US influence, prestige or power; a world that may well come to pass unless something changes, and that soon.

I'm pretty certain Israel would survive if the Boogaloo does start up here in the US. While yeah everyone around them hates them they do have Canned Sunshine and other goodies.

Taiwan is gonna get oof'd hard if it happens, Worst Korea would probably also get rolled over. Russia would probably be more aggressive towards Ukraine but I don't actually see them doing anything too wild in Europe.

Also yeah global economic collapse and all that fun stuff.

Cause the global economy to plummet to levels not seen since the Great Depression (I fear that this hypothetical depression would likely be either worse or more long lasting than the previous one).
Give nations that were held back by America's military and economic might to annex this nation or oppress/genocide that people without fears of immediate retribution.
Force the EU to rely on their collective power to protect itself (it has a long way to go today before the concept of an EU army existing without the aid of the US military goes beyond being a pipe dream).
Etc.

tl;dr The people who wish for the US to be put through a civil war because anarchist logic are likely the same people who wish the pilot of the plane they're on would crash just because they don't like the pilot.

Though American politics are becoming much more partisan, civil war won’t happen. Both sides still want a country to run and a world to live in. If America collapsed into civil war, the globe would suffer immensely and humanity would be absolutely fucked.
