Every leader has enemies, especially in the context when the actual de jure leader (the King) is an easily-manipulable puppet creating ripe conditions for civil war and different factions jockeying for power. Considering that context, the fact that Delacroix remains in charge is actually fairly impressive and shows her Macchievallian competence. The OP says many of the character's friends are dead within a matter of a few years as potential competitors or rivals for power, which demonstrates Delacroix's competence and shrewdness in efficiently eliminating possible threats to her regime. And she's been able to rise from a low-ranking noble to the most powerful person in the realm, and able to convince the head of state to enrich her own personal wealth, demonstrating powers of persuasian and astute political instincts. And yes, now she does face a threat from a coalition of disgruntled noble families but like I said within the context of a weak head of state challenges to power are more just a natural consequence of those circumstances rather than anything attributable to the incompetence or stupidity of Delacroix specifically. I'd say she sounds like a fairly able and competent ruler to me.

the latter can honestly happen to anyone (unless your a sitting King and your authority is well secured)

Great, I have the power, not them, I've got the swords.
Arrest them both, crown myself temporary dictator, dismantle feudalism, set up schools to teach peasants to read and make the nobles stop marrying each other so damn much (it's the inbreeding that causes their craziness you know), declare a democratic Republic then resign with a good pension and a small bodyguard to enjoy my retirement and protect myself from any inbred crackpot ex-aristocrat trying to bump me off.

People who effect sudden radical reforms in a society under social conditions ill-suited to handle those reforms have generally not ended their political careers very well.
See what happened to Kang Youwei during Qing China's Great Leap Forward. Or Robespierre and the Jacobins. Also I don't know how you're protect yourself from "any inbred crackpot ex-aristocrat trying to bump me off" when practically every member of the noble class is gonna fall into that category after you've effected your reforms.
