It won't happen though - a technical extension was already on the cards anyway even if Parliament had voted in favour of the negotiated withdrawal agreement, just because it's not clear there's enough time to get the legalities sorted in two weeks.

There are two options for an extension now. One to be longer, past the European elections, which the EU would probably only agree to if it's to allow time for a UK election etc. The other option is a short one, for just a couple of months. The EU don't like that idea either, because the UK's ask for it would come without a clear plan for what May's going to do differently going forward. But if the option is between crashing out and another couple of months of this BS, they'd likely hold their noses and go for the latter.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Yeah I mentioned earlier that the former seems the more likely format for an extension, except the part about a UK election being slotted in as well.

I agree. She is bad. Her deal is bad. But there is no better option.

The others are
A) Delay. Make the pain more prolonged without accomplishing anything
B) Cancel Brexit. Would leave the UK in a bad place. Still in the EU but hated by it. Good luck trying to get anything from the EU after you showed you a full of BS and have zero leverage.
Also would make the political environment a mess.
C) Hard Brexit

So what option is better than her deal?

The other thing about an extension is that it would allow time to reveal 'no deal' plans for the BS that they are. The UK government sneakily put out a plan last night that has a customs border between NI and RoUK, slashes tariffs for UK farmers and leaves NI farmers with the worst of both worlds. It's avoided serious scrutiny so far because of what else has been going on with these votes - the moment people get a few minutes to go over it, Parliament will riot over it, and in a bid to preserve Tory and government 'unity' (lol) May will cave, leaving the UK with no policy for leaving without a withdrawal agreement either. Which, in turn, will help another few MPs to understand that at this point the choices are for either the negotiated withdrawal agreement or no Brexit at all.
