Turns out it's non-binding unfortunately, but the will of the commons is nonetheless clear.

If it is not binding it cannot override the binding vote to leave.

It's "total carnage" in the division lobbies, one Tory MP says. Another: "Some who are not prepared to vote against the amended motion are just being allowed to go the pub".

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Legally he's right as of right now, but I can't see him being right for much longer.

Yup. I reckon that once this blows over, the party (if it's still in existence) will probably invent their own minister for Antarctica position just for him.

Oh cool, no stress then.

But if you are in this situation it is best to contact the Home Office if you are concerned, as I'm obviously not one of their employees. They will be far better suited to advise you.

So ultimately, it doesn’t change anything.

Philjia wrote:MPs are filing out to vote on the motion as amended, which will send the government to ask for an extension to Article 50 and to avoid a no deal scenario if possible.

Do we have 650 brain dead cats dressed as people instead of MPs? An extension is more uncertainty, and that’s what destabilises the economy. In or out, and maybe table a motion for parliament to grow a collective spine while they’re at it.

Obviously not. Even brain dead cats would do a better job.

And yes, asking for an extension is the worst option.
It is an absolutely horrible idea.

Hence it might actually pass.

I'm sure the Home Office will have some kind of system by which they can switch to a different visa if the current one is going to be affected by Brexit. But like I said, it's best if they contact the Home Office directly.

The amended motion has been approved 321 to 278.

This is a complete fucking disaster for the Prime Minister.

Actually a bit annoyed that I'm working tonight and having to catch up on my phone instead of watching. I get the feeling we're witnessing the collapse of the government play out frankly.

The BBC's political correspondent, Vicki Young, says that there are "lots of rumours" that ministers and even Cabinet ministers may well be resigning from government over their votes this evening.

Same way neoliberalism is in general. Obstinant refusal to vacate institutions of power or acknowledge how they have no mandate, because nobody can force them to do it, and gaslighting everyone by ignoring reality.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Now would be the time given that May just tried to whip the party and failed.
