Nah, they're cucks. This is how British politics works. Tory, Whig, Socialist, Cuck. They just have to accept they're cucks now and embrace that label with pride. It's their own silly fault for naming their party something so ridiculous.

They just have to hope that in 100 years (if they last that long, which they wont), it'll be a trivia question.

"Did you know Cuck used to be an insult and the real name of the party is-"

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

If they're going to use the first two letters of "Change" I say they do that consistently for the whole name.

Absolutely not. A trade mission from Britain was treated like a tribute mission with a snarky letter in response, they were arrogant to the diplomat, and so on. The reason they didn't want to trade is that they thought Britain was inferior and they needed nothing they had to offer.
They learned better soon enough.

If they hadn't been arrogant they'd have traded for weapons and so on, which some of the advisors to the emperor said they should be doing, instead he was like "Nah bru, i'm a god on earth, fuck these tribute baring barbarians.".

Opium was only turned to as a result of a severe trade deficit. They COULD have been more down to earth and been like "Actually yeah, trade weapons and machinery with us." instead of "Nothing you have could possibly be of any use to our superior civilization." and the British going "Okay fuck it, Opium it is."

Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

The triumph of the Democracy is essential to the struggle of popular liberty

The result of the war demonstrates that they did, in fact, need some of the things being traded.

I wonder how long an extension Theresa will ask for at the end of October.

With the extension to October I might just make use of it and visit Scotland. What should I see besides Edinburgh. Is Aberdeen worth it? Glasgow?

Telegrams are welcome on the subject :)

I am vegetarian, I am not interested in that :)

Also, after Scotland, Wales will be the only British nation that I haven't visited. For a reason ;)

I'm visiting Wales this summer. It has some of the best castles anywhere. As far as I'm concerned, Caernarfon is second only to Krak des Chevaliers in all the world.

I wouldn't worry about it if you avoid the Highlands.

20 years ago, I used to spend my summers working on archaeology sites in Wales.

Every three weeks we would have a lamb roast; hmmmmm, tasty sheep.

What was the reason you didn't want to visit Wales again?

Not knowing where to (not) go mostly. I tend to stay in cities, given my lack of car driving skills. And in Wales I only know about Cardiff, and I have no clue if that is worth visiting. From Scotland I at least know that Edinburgh is.

Been to North Wales a few times on holiday as my other half has family out that way.

Go. Seriously, you won't regret it, it is stunningly beautiful.

Snowdonia?

TG me with suggestions. Though I only plan Scotland for now, Wales will take longer I guess.
But let's not distract it too much. It's still about politics here.

On that note, which politician should I try to make a selfie with in Holyrood? :p
