Most veg and salad in the supermarkets is washed in chlorine.
The reason it's banned in meat is because the EU reckon it can cover up some less well known bacterial viruses that result from other poor hygiene practices or being lack on changing the water. And even then it's only been from something like the late 90s. Before that it was used over here for decades. The Listeria problem in a certain NHS, guess what kills Listeria? Chlorine.
So just think about that for second, are you really that much opposed to chlorine you won't ever eat salad or veg again? Or is it just a massive over reaction?
