Who needs a coup when he could just twat an irritating PM about the head with her big mace?

Wasn't there a BBC movie about such a scenario?

Rory Stewart basically threatening civil war/constitutional crisis if parliament is suspended after Johnson wins, saying he will invite MPs to hold parliament across the road in Methodist Hall instead.

Reckon they'll dodge the heart of the issue by screaming about The Queen and The Scepter of Power being necessary for it to be a reaallll parliament and he wont have those?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

They really hate the idea of actual oversight by a democratically elected body who's sovereignty and supremacy the referendum was supposed to protect, don't they?

In two years we've gone from restoring Parliamentary Sovereignty, Business for Britain and "the easiest deal in history" to "fuck business", we never wanted a deal anyway and if Parliament disagrees we'll shut it down.

And somehow these two positions are both "what 17.4 million people voted for".

I've been thinking more and more about the fact that Brexiters constantly keep saying things like "We survived the Blitz, we can survive Brexit."

Leaving aside the fact that the people who say that are never actually the folks who survived the Blitz (the war generation being almost as pro-EU as millennials), it's weird that so many seem so gung ho about diving into something that they compare to one of the most terrible times to be in Britain. After all, a lot of people didn't survive the Blitz... Why anybody would ever want anything even remotely resembling such hardship is just beyond me.

And it's not something that's being said by the types who think GoT's Aerys II is a great role model either.

Any ideas as to why this is such a common talking point?

The Liberal Democrats specifically delayed the Chuk cohort from officially joining them until after the nominations window had closed. The choice is solidly now between Ed Davey and Jo Swinson (with Swinson being the favourite to win at the moment).

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!
