But now the right are doing that to themselves, entirely organically. Look at yourselves. You're freaking out over milkshakes. It's the doom of civilised society, the left are destroying peaceful politics, lock these criminals away, this is assault, this is violent, you're normalising violence!
Calm down, lads, they're only milkshakes. Keep this up and people will think you're deranged.

You sound like my nieces when they were aged six or so. "They started it!" whilst they each blamed the other for whatever petty squabble they were on about. Meanwhile the grown ups didn't really care and just told them to pack it in or they'd be sent to their respective rooms.Ifreann wrote:Hirota wrote:Normalising and justifying this kind of act against people or policies you find distasteful, inevitably opens the door for other people to do exactly the same against people or policies they find distasteful. If you lack the ability to understand that then that is your failing not anyone elses.
Yes, throwing milkshakes at Nigel Farage opens the door to public harassment of LGBT people, something that would otherwise not have happened at all. Now if the thing that has been happening for decades continues to happen it will be because of the left.

I mean, you do lose the moral high ground.
But I guess that wasn't that important anyway.

I mean, it certainly makes Nigel Farage look like the good sport on this debate. I don't know much about the guy other than he wants to brexit, but when you show up covered in milkshake and engage with your supporters anyway like the picture shows:
Well, first impression is he's a good sport about things.
You might say the protest does the opposite of its intent at first glance.

Yeah it is almost like throwing a milkshake at someone does basically nothing to discredit their arguments.

We can either act like a bunch of petty kids, or we can take some responsibility and do something constructive and decide not to act like six year olds. I know I choose the latter, how you choose to behave is up to you.

What do you imagine could possibly be gained by debating Nigel Farage?
Do you think that if you drop some epic logic on him he'll be destroyed and he'll resign from politics?
