Used to go to Urmston every week as a teenager. The swimming pool there allowed kayaking so most of the Manchester canoe-polo teams trained there.

Huh, didn't know the leisure center did kayaking, that's pretty neat. It's a nice big pool mind, and they seem to have everything else under the sun going on there if I recall right, so I can see it. Haven't been in a while come to think of it..

This was the late 90's. And it was after closing.

It was just hard to find pools since it was pretty easy to damage the sides with a kayak so most didn't allow it. But they did fit the equipment to hold up the goals so they must have been really okay with it.
