Considering the UK is part of NATO, and Ireland is not, I do not see what NATO can do.
And the EU lacks the command structure and political will for a joint military response.
Like NATO would care. They’ve invaded/bombed several non-member nations. If the UK invaded Ireland they’d get the boot almost immediately from NATO.
I think there would be no military action but that sanctions would destroy the UK economy.
Dude the amount of Americans asking to protect Ireland would be enough to if not invaded the UK at least drive it from Ireland.
But it is barely worth discussion as it would never be seriously considered in the first place.
Your opinion mate.

Well, a few things. Ireland is not part of NATO. And the EU does not have a unified army command structure. UK is part of NATO. In other words, NATO gets torn to shreds,
Really? I had no fucking clue.
Hopefully you understand that’s sarcasm. I know Ireland isn’t in NATO it’s just easier to write NATO than list every nation that would support such a task force.
and it will take time for the EUropeans to figure some of the stuff out of their own. USA, Canada, etc. will of course not join the British.
The EU wouldn’t be alone. The US more than likely would be gearing up for a liberation.
So I am not entirely sure if the EU is capable of helping out Ireland in any meaningful military way before the Irish army is overrun by the British.
Well duh. That’s why I was assuming they’d liberate Ireland.
Unless, of course, France takes initiative on their own and manages to get a variety of other countries to join in (notably Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain).
I’m more than certain that France would jump at the chance to fuck over the UK
