I could, in principle, see a situation where the SSS did start collecting that data, and it was used for something other than direct warfare: for drafting doctors in to deal with a major disease outbreak or disaster response, for example.

They tried to draft my father specifically to be a chaplain as he was a minister - and offered an instant promotion to lieutenant - but he went to court for an objector classification.

That's already the case. Thanks to the Selective Service, millions of citizens can be mobilized in a few short weeks. If you scrap the system then you are fucked when it comes time to draft because you don't have an organized system in place to activate your conscripts. It would be a logistical nightmare.

Money represents labor in fungible form. Taxes remove money from an individual. Taxes, therefore, are the forceful acquisition of an individual's labor.

It may have escaped your notice, dear, but you need people to operate drones, repair drones, and provide logistical support for drones. You are aware that most soldiers specialize in areas other than being infantry, yes?

True. However, the ASVAB exists as a means of determining what roles your fresh recruits will be effective at serving. BCT and AIT further help weed out and specialize your new troops.
