I don't think anyone I know ever remember "Good Idea, Bad Idea", that was one of my favorite shorts from Animaniacs.

Finally someone gets it. You get a slice of cheesecake!

I wanted to post a video but I didn't think it would be appropriate.

But morality is arguably subjective. Legal is legal.

Legality is only what can be enforced. In this scenario it can not be enforced.

That pretty much describes my take on this situation. Nothing wrong with putting a few shells in those that want to exploit you for monetary gain.

Did you even watch the movie?

Frankly this story made me lol though. It's just such a ridiculously absurd idea.

And when they run out of pirates to kill, how long before they decide to get their jollies by turning pirate themselves? :(

It would be different - because the US Navy, like all armed forces, are trained to operate under strict rules of engagement and are governed by appropriate international and national laws.

All I'm seeing, still, is a level of training difference. It is nothing that can't be rectified by a few days training and education as to what is and isn't acceptable.

Like I said before, if they're doing execution-style killings, that's a horse of a different color. However, if they're just sailing up and down the coast waiting to get attacked, that's no different than a well-armed black man walking through a prejudiced white neighborhood, or vice versa. It still leaves it up to the pirates to initiate conflict.

The Parkus Empire: Being serious on NSG is like wearing a suit to a nude beach.
New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.
