The idea of a "Monarchist Party" seems self-contradictory; a democratic political party trying to establish an autocratic leader? I also think purely ceremonial monarchs like that of the UK are stupid; the Queen has next to no power in political matters and is just sitting there costing taxpayers a combined total of over $400 million per year (source). That's way bigger of a leech than any realistic number of copies of your neighbour Bob who's too lazy to work and sits there collecting welfare checks.
That being said, I do think there is a need for a change in our political system. Confidence in the government is low, and we are increasingly polarized along party lines, especially during and since the 2016 election season. Personally I think most of the people currently in the federal government are lunatics, and I'm sick of stupid "he-said-she-said" crap in politics every day in the news and the inability for people to 1) drop the stick and move on and 2) actually collaborate with members of the other party as opposed to scheming against them.
My idea of an ideal ruler would be a benevolent autocrat (dictator or king) who favours small-government, libertarian, and right-wing policies, deriving his authority from a constitution that prevents him from getting too powerful. He is supported by a small cabinet of a dozen members or less who serve as his advisers, and this small government size can lead to low taxes of just 10-15% as a whole bunch of nearly useless positions don't need to be funded. Free-market economics and extensive civil rights would be in place, and the leader would use referendums to seek public opinion on new laws and influence his decision (though as leader, he has the ultimate say). Basically, it's constitutional autocracy with an element of direct democracy.
Sounds like absolutely hell. Low tax Libertarian land? Count me out.
