Stop trying to insert your politics everywhere. History is supposed to be about history, period.

Then again it'd probably also result in kids realising why terms like "trap" are problematic as well.

Trap is rather polite albeit familiar word, their contemporaries would have been way cruder and direct than I've been. :^)

This is a debate forum....if you did not want to debate why did you join this forum? Second, if you think we are flaming report it. Third, asking you to back up your claims, and then pointing out the flaws in your source is not attacking you.

That's literally what this whole thing is about. Slap some big "that guy was gay" sticker on some historical figure and talk about him for no other reason than that, as if it defined both his personality and accomplishments.

That's not what this whole thing is about at all, but do continue to believe it.

The reality of disagreement is that the larger the difference in views, the longer the grind. Look at some of sigs on these forums, we have people with radical, fundamental disagreements so if the game isn't for you it's your right to move on. That being said I'd like you to reflect on your position as it appears to us. You've made a claim that extends onto the lives of others and have provided no statistical information to back it up.

It really isn't tho. Again, that Sulla liked to get sodomised by a trap should be nothing more than a funny trivia when talking about the proscriptions and the last days of the Republic, not the subject of the whole lesson.

I believe you've misunderstood me. I mean, the gay rights movement. Not necessarily that Sulla liked dick.

Not even just the 2000s. The LGBT civil rights movement started in 1969, roughly around the same time the Civil Rights movement was winding down.

Imagine thinking the teaching of history isn't already inherently political. What we put in and what we leave out of the teaching of history are political acts.

You super can't cover Reagan's administration or the Stonewall riots without mentioning the oppression of the gays. It's like trying to do the March on Washington without mentioning Jim Crow or segregation.
