Gender not being a dichotomy of man and women can be seen throughout the entirety of civilized history. The ancient Babylonians had a religious role in which the people were not viewed as man or women. I'll quickly respond to the counterpoint that they were probably still biologically man or woman. Our scientific constructions when it comes to biology have changed over the centuries so those aren't universal or concrete. Maybe generally so but there are multiple levels in which gender operates.

It’s either XX or XY, anything else results in genetic disorders like infertility and sometimes just straight up death.

And just because something is believed in by ancient people doesn’t mean it’s correct.

Ya but no one can detect chromosomes without the use of modern scientific equipment. Gender for us is based off of the five senses in everyday life.
It does mean that gender variation is a natural aspect of human behaviour.

I grew up with a single mother. I learned whatever you're supposed to learn from a father from my grandfather. The same is true of someone with two mothers, and vice versa with two fathers and a grandmother.

But those differ for everybody. On a case by case basis, any given person may have been abandoned by or have abandoned their blood related family - even distant relatives - and therefore their close friends are their only family.
