Reminds me of a beautiful Twitter post I saw earlier today by a wonderful mutual follower of mine who's recently started tweeting deeply about their theological studies.

The tweet:

So? Some Christians, at least some Anabaptists, believe that secular politics is evil and that Christians should not vote or engage in any sort of political activism because they believe it will lead to sin.

If this is used to teach the actual history of a marginalized people, sure, all for it. But maybe teach some more general history first, as my sister didn't know who Lewis and Clarke were until 7th Grade. Thanks for that Liberal school!

But if this is another platform for teachers to spew social justice propaganda and try make me feel bad for being a white, cis, straight man, then I don't want to hear it.

I suppose. This is the internet, is it not? I have no videos or any other source other than my word, which you can take or leave. Feel free to disregard it if you wish, but I give you my word it happened. I don't think I've given you any reason not to trust me, and I've been perfectly pleasant every time I've encountered you. There was no need for the rudeness.

I would call it both. It has been reported but has yet to be addressed. Not sure why, but I'm guessing because the principal is pretty busy.

Both were doing lectures on social justice. When I challenged them using my 1st Amendment right, that is the reaction I received. I am not misrepresenting what they said, but that's a pointless debate as neither of us can prove our side with anything but word or assumption.

Teaching kids in school that they are bad for being straight is both Social Justice in it's rawest form and propaganda, as it is information feeding Social Justice.

To invoke that kind of extreme response from the teachers a student has to do something pretty bad that goes beyond normal discourse.

Unless you can argue that a viable standard for an education system is to prefer the furthering of a political agenda over important history that is not being taught? Again, I'm all for it being a part of the curriculum, the LGBT community has faced horrid things. But having a class is a no no.

Inherent in this argument is the implication that what kids learn in history class cannot ever change for fear of pushing out all previous topics.
