Autism- a developmental disorder of variable severity that is characterized by difficulty in social interaction and communication and by restricted or repetitive patterns of thought and behavior.
Autism can be a touchy subject for some parents to talk about when a child gets autism it can be both a challenge for parents and the child depending on the spectrum they land on. Kids with autism are also victims of bullying in schools just because they're "different" from the other kids.
Doctors don't know what the cause of this some believe its due to genes or the enviroment the child is growing up in.
I created this thread just to see what are NSG's thoughts on autism like how should parents take care of a autistic child? And should schools do a better job at stomping out bullying against autistic kids?
My Opinion- I understand that having a child with autism can be a challenge for some parents, but that doesn't give the parents the right to give up their child just because they're going to act different from the other children. Parents should always take care of their child no matter if they have a mental disorder or not, parents should treat their autistic child like a normal child.
As for the schools I think some schools are doing great when it comes to stomping out bullying against autistic children. Autistic students should always be respected by their fellow peers and teachers. Other schools however, need lots of work usually when a autistic child is getting bullied most teachers ignore it or they join in on the bullying which wrong in many places. For teacher to mock or bully a autistic child.
