Is this game really popular?

I always wonder if the nations i see have actual real user not just an AI. I visited some regions and they have their own rules and websites, like it is a serious thing. Almost all of them do that. I have been playing this game for many years now not continuous though, just wanted to test something. Can you all verify that you are real?

I am a real user, and there are no AI users here. While I wouldn't say that this game is extremely popular, it definitely has users from all over the world.

While I know some folks have alts, I don't know of any widespread bot use. I, for instance, am 100% Grade B human.

True. The best I've heard as a way to count the number of users on nationstates is to look at the number of WA numbers, and then double it.

One THEY ARE NOT AI'S! I hate it when people say that an AI by definition can make it''s choices it can expand beyond it's programming what you are talking about is in fact VI's which purely follow the code they are given. Secondly they are not VI's but lots of nations are puppets to a main nation.

Yes, this game is incredibly popular. just look at how many forum users there are, and how many players there are in general. And yes, many regions like to have external sites; it makes it look more professional.

I wonder how well-known Nationstates is on the wider internet though.
For example, Facebook and Twitter are brand names everybody knows.
Then for those who may spend a bit more time (and maybe not even them nowadays), websites like reddit or 4chan are also well-known.
Does NS get in the category of reddit or 4chan in terms of fame and visibility?
I haven't heard of that website anywhere else, and it's a friend who told me it existed. Yet there's a big community around, it's not niche at all.
