The political situation in Venezuela might lead to the forced exile of the capitalist economic leaders and politicians to Miami, problem solved, as Maduro once said, when will the right wing bourgeoisie learn the revolution is here to stay.

Like the eternal Cuban revolution did, Problem solved from the democratic political perspective of the eternal Chavista Bolivarian Revolution, declare Venezuela another democratic one political party state like Cuba, problem solved.
La Habana Cuba is a regional Province of Greater Miami Shores and Greater Miami Shores is a Province of Greater La Habana Cuba, democratic capitalist Republic.

Cause some dude on Twitter make Tweets without citations is completely trustworthy.
The Russian trolls in the comments screaming about Zionist conspiracies (ignoring Putin’s friendship with Netanyahu) is nice too.

Funny because that twitter account did actually provide sources if you bothered to look at it. Also "Russian Trolls?" Is this 2016? Are you going to claim the US election was rigged as well? Good to know Cold war propaganda still has it's effect and you can blame everything on those evil commie Russians.

Twitter is pure Poe too.
It is impossible to tell if it is people ironically believing the crazy, just pretending to to be rolling and edgy, or some sick combination where both feed on each other.

Ah yes, the good old photo tricks, where one government commits an atrocity, and you blame another government for it. Let's recap the claims:

Those babies that the Venezuelan opposition claims are thrown into boxes isn't even from Venezuela- this photo is from Honduras in 2013, shortly after the U.S. staged a coup in 2009.

Speaking of that coup, remind me again, quite a few immigrants that are chilling Tijuana are from? Wasn't that Honduras? So Obama backs a corrupt Government in Honduras in 2009, makes life unbearable for some Hondurans, they flee, and come to the US border. Where else did this scenario unfold? Was it with the EU's support for the Arab Spring, and the Libyan/Syrian Refugees coming to Europe? It's as if they were using the same playbook.

They claim the Venezuelan government burnt the "aid" trucks on the Colombian-Venezuelan border. Except the opposition terrorists are *on video* creating molotov cocktails, lighting them on fire, and throwing them at the aid trucks.

Whoops. Gotta avoid getting caught on camera if you're going to destroy aid trucks. Duh!

Opposition supporters claim this man an example of "repression" in 2014 by the Bolivarian government. In reality, the man is a Chavista who was attacked by the opposition terrorists in 2013.

Ah yes, something similar was tried in Ukraine, where the press showed dead Ukrainian Neo-Nazis, and tried to pass them off as Russian soldiers. That got a good laugh. I wonder, will they try it again?

CNN claimed that "Venezuelan army defectors" want the U.S. to send them weapons. Teeny tiny problem: the uniforms of the alleged "defectors" say "FAN" which was changed to "FANB" over a decade ago (in 2008!!!), and they don't even live in Venezuela.

Of course it had to be CNN. Recently Ukraine took over Pakistan:

Image

Alright class, let's get those fake police beatings in:

The opposition claims this man was beaten by the "fascist" PSUV government in 2014. In reality, the man is named Unai Romano and he was beaten, but not by Venezuelan police & not in 2014. He was beaten by capitalist Spanish police many years before 2014.

Uno

Opposition supporters, most notably @amandagutierrz (who has deleted her fake tweet), posted a photo in 2014 alleging Venezuelan police sexually assaulted a man. The alleged guard's uniform, is clearly & obviously, 100% wrong- that's because it's fake and came from an adult film.

Dos

Infamous thug @WellingMichael claims the Venezuelan government is killing the people, cites this photo as evidence. Other serial liars such as @EduardoJFloresF have used it the similar ways. One little problem: the photo is from 2002 in Argentina.

Tres

The SOSVenezuela crowd claims this woman is a victim of the Venezuelan national guards. This woman was beaten by police in Egypt in December of 2011.

Quatro - is that Merengue or the Cha, Cha, Cha?

And a few more:

From the mouth of an "entrepreneur" living in D.C., this opposition supporter claims this photo is the reality in Venezuela. However, this didn't happen in Venezuela but in Indonesia during a security drill in March 2009.

The opposition claims to present evidence of a victim of the "genocide" by President Maduro. The baby was abandoned, but it was not part of a genocide and was not in Venezuela and not in 2019. This happened in 2016 in Vietnam.

Social Media's really making it hard for mass media to spread lies to start a war. Bummer man.

@Cerinda - you gotta post the quotes from the source, not just the source itself.

I've never heard of any of the stories that were "debunked" in that twitter thread. I oppose Venezuela's government for different reasons, such as corruption, different cases of proven oppression, as well as the blocking of aid. Yes, the latter did happen.

Edit: Also, that twitter source defends the Soviet Union, and called the Venezuelan opposition "fascist". That's enough proof I need to determine that he isn't reliable, even if some people on the other side do stretch the truth.

Defending the Soviet Union, that's bog-standard apologism for a country that doesn't deserve any more credit than it's already got, and by itself casts anything they say into serious doubt.

Claiming that a movement with the primary goal to remove a dictator from power and restore democracy to a country, one headed by a social democrat, is "fascist", though? Either they legitimately, honestly believe that, thus throwing anything they say right into the trash bin, or they're duplicitous and trying to deceive others into believing that nonsense, which, again, throws anything they say right into the trash bin, but with less than zero remorse.

I've no doubt that blocking aid happened. However, merely blocking aid doesn't whip the public into war fervor, so exaggeration is a must, and that's what I was pointing out. I'm not arguing that Maduro is a nice and able leader - I think he's a shithead. But that doesn't mean that the US should intervene to promote yet another shithead.

You need to read multiple sources to get multiple points of view. That Twitter account had photos debunking certain narratives, like the narrative about the incubator babies. For instance:

The Nayirah testimony was a false testimony given before the Congressional Human Rights Caucus on October 10, 1990 by a 15-year-old girl who provided only her first name, Nayirah. The testimony was widely publicized, and was cited numerous times by United States senators and President George H. W. Bush in their rationale to back Kuwait in the Gulf War. In 1992, it was revealed that Nayirah's last name was al-Ṣabaḥ and that she was the daughter of Saud Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. Furthermore, it was revealed that her testimony was organized as part of the Citizens for a Free Kuwait public relations campaign, which was run by the American public relations firm Hill & Knowlton for the Kuwaiti government. Following this, al-Sabah's testimony has come to be regarded as a classic example of modern atrocity propaganda.
